Craft/art scrap donations we accept

The following items will be accepted and used in various customer experiences:

Craft Scrap Re-Use

We sell art and craft supplies that are gently used, half finished, or otherwise have some life left in them.

  • Most fiber arts materials (embroidery floss, yarn, needles, hooks, etc.)

  • Half-finished craft projects. Someone may take up the mantle, or we’ll dissemble for parts.

  • Used art supplies, if they are still usable. Stubs of oil pastels, half-used watercolor tins, markers that still work, brushes, etc.

  • Fabric, as long as it’s in good condition. Fabric will be rejected if it has an odor, is excessively dirty, or is too large a volume for us to store.

  • Ceramics/glass, on a limited basis if useful for crafting. (ex. is it a cute teacup someone could upcycle for a candle? Perhaps a glass votive someone could stick vinyl on?)

  • Wallpaper scraps.

  • Crafting tools and equipment (looms, hoops, heat guns, glue guns, a variety of machines in good working order.)

  • Corks

  • Scrap wood (small pieces)

  • Velvet drawstring bags, decorative safety pins, or anything other high-quality packaging items.

  • Stamping supplies

  • Old, incomplete, or broken board games or stranded pieces. (We’ll also take playable/complete board games for the shop customers to use, just let us know it’s a game donation instead of scrap!)

Art Library

Our art library and special events include collage making and upcycling endeavors that can always use a boost from neighbor donations!

We even have a small kids section, so even Highlights or half-used kids sticker sheets are accepted.

  • Magazines

  • Stickers

  • Life paraphernalia - ticket stubs, brochures, postcards, cards - anything folks could use for collage or scrapbooking.

  • Broken ceramics/glass. We’ll smash it up more for mosaics!

  • Basic office supplies: Paper, scissors, glue sticks, permanent markers, rules. (We offer lots of supplies for free use in the shop to help doodling and creating.)

  • Clean, label-free glass jars. (Truly. No food inside, no adhesive residue. Our favorite label removal method is a good long soak in soapy water, scrape off the paper, glob on a mixture of baking soda + olive oil to soften, then scrape any residual adhesive. Stop by the shop for a free adhesive scraper tool to facilitate your efforts!)

Used Books

We sell a limited stock of used books if they are in good condition and align with our shop ethos. Donated books that are not shelved will be repurposed into art. We loved bedazzling them, using pages for crafts, or clipping passages for collages. The options are endless!

We will also buy high-quality, high-demand books for our upcycling efforts. Limited options exist. If you think you have a meaninful book for our bedazzle collection, contact us!

Depending on book/condition, we’ll pay:

Hardcovers: $5-10

Paperback, $3-5

Examples of popular bedazzle books include:

  • Beloved classics like Little Women, Anne of Green Gables

  • Romance (think Emily Henry)

  • Anything SJM

  • Fourth Wing series

  • Dystopian (Hunger Games, etc.)

  • Magic/fantasy (LOTR, Percy Jackson, HP)

  • Any book with fantastic cover art

Other scrap reuse donation info:

  • We cannot accept anything flammable, perishable, or otherwise difficult to store or integrate into our current work streams. This includes but is not limited to paint cans, stain, your unwashed recycling items, and magazines with adult content.

We will make every effort to avoid the landfill and find appropriate homes for them, including donating to other institutions, holding an overage sale, or working with partners to re-direct. Some items may be disposed of it they cannot otherwise be placed.

  • Note we are a for-profit business, so your supplies donation is only eligible to receive our unending praise and gratitude for supporting this woman-owned local small business. (Read: It is not tax-deductible.)
